The Solutions Engineer is a technical role that is part of a highly technical strategic sales team, which supports product direction and promotes customer happiness. Primarily providing technical support for the understanding of products/applications/solutions. This includes product presentations, demonstrations, assessment of potential application of F5 solutions, and strategic direction.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Maintain effective relationship with F5 partners and customers in qualifying prospective opportunities, supporting sales and sales enablement objectives, conducting product demonstrations, and technical presentations remotely or at partner/customers locations/F5 facilities.
  • Interact directly with customer's and technology partner's needs, work on solution development, out of the box thinking, creativity and assist with their technical requirements from design, configuration up to solution onboarding and production needs
  • F5 is all about providing value to customers. The flawless candidate should demonstrate a "customer first" mentality, integrity, a technical champion that strives to maintain long term relationship with key account persona

  • This position requires travel between 40-50% to partner sites, customer sites, other F5 offices, and to tradeshow/conference events.
  • Ability to work on-site or remotely and still maintain tight collaboration with team and partners.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    Must have 5+ demonstrated ability supporting technical sales and/or partners-led sales of enterprise applications and cyber-security solutions to corporate accounts.

    In-depth knowledge of one or more key cyber-security concepts and technologies such as: Application security - Web Application firewalls, API gateways and API Security concepts, NGFW, DDoS protection, Encryption, Secure access management and 0-trust methodologies (e.g. SAML, OAuth 2.0, OpenID), Perimeter and cloud security SAAS solutions. Hands on experience with public and private cloud architectures

    Deep understanding of technology drivers in the market such as: DevOps and SecOps methodologies. Microservices, automation and orchestration tools and CI/CD processes. Familiarity with the following technologies in this space include one or many: NGINX, HAProxy, Ansible, Terraform, Grafana, Jenkins, OpenShift, K8s and Containerized architectures are a plus.

    Consistent record of learning new technologies, developing domain expertise on new products and solutions with ability to analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve technical challenges.

    Strong interpersonal and presentation skills, with the ability of articulating sophisticated technology with simplicity

    Confirmed writing skills, with an emphasis on deployment guides, how-to-guides, technical enablement materials, and blogs.

    Good understanding of the OSI layers and protocols, particularly web application protocols (HTML, HTTP, JSON, XML, etc.).

    Relevant networking or security certifications are advantageous.

    Confirmed hands-on experience with networking technologies and implementations (TCP/IP, VLANs, IP addressing and subnetting, NAT etc.).

    Proficient in English - writing and conversing
