Starkey is looking to hire great talent to join our Israel Advanced Development center in Tel-Aviv that is focused on redefining medical wearable devices with advanced sensors and artificial intelligence technologies

The Sr. Firmware Engineer primary objective is to develop and integrate new innovative capabilities and technologies to Starkey’s products and services. The Sr. Firmware Engineer must be a strong, hands-on, engineer who loves technology and enjoy working in a high-pace dynamic environment. S/He must possess high-level technical expertise, creativity and internal drive, and is capable of working on loosely-defined tasks.

Education:

B.S + 7 years in Computer Science or related fields, or M.S. + 5 years 

Experience:

  • Experience in design, develop code, test and debug system firmware.
  • Proficiency with 'C' programming
  • Domain knowledge of one or more of the following is required, Digital Signal ProcessingWireless and wired communication and related protocols.Embedded firmware development.Firmware test methodologies and tools
  • Experience in writing drivers for sensors such as Accelerometer, Gyro, RFID, and Radio.
  • Experience in using test equipment such as Scope, Fluke, BLE Sniffer, Logic Analyzer.
  • Knowledge of analog and digital circuitry and architecture of programming devices is required.
  • Knowledge of assembly is a plus
  • Keeping up with latest research and top industry standards and the ability to learn quickly new languages, OS, tools, and APIs is essential for this position.

    • Approach and Deployment (What to Do & How to Do It)

  • Lead or participate in new initiatives and rapid prototyping for current and future products. Design, and implement Firmware features to support new initiatives and prototypes.Lead or participate in the development of new features on various platforms including DSP, PC, mobile, wearables, cloud, and moreCreate and document the FW design and implementation
  • Interact with potential partners, other functional groups, and customers regarding future products on a regular basis. Facilitate communication between Advanced Development and other functional groups.Work with outside companies and experts.Coordinate and guide the rapid prototyping activities and work with other managers on prioritization
  • Apply technical expertise to develop high quality Firmware. Utilize technical knowledge to architect and implement prototypes and products.Develop projects by working alone or by technically leading engineers.Understand and participate in establishing requirementsCreate and contribute to system level design and architecture.
  • Provide technical leadership in R&D and Advanced Development activities Serve as a technical point of contact for System Firmware researchParticipate in and contribute to the research and development activities such as design reviews, conferences, competitive analysis, patent reviews, etc.Assist with training of new employees and teammates
