Threat Research Manager - Herzliya
The Data Science Manager will join the CIS Israeli team as a hands-on manager and will lead the development of the new and innovative product – Cyren Inbox Security
Responsibilities: Take end to end ownership of the research, development and monitoring of email-based threat detection models.
Serve as the subject matter expert and lead a team of data scientists and researchers to improve the product’s detection value.
Provide quantitative and qualitative insights around quality and performance of the product’s detection models.
Lead the detection development methodology across the team and drive the execution of the development according to the company goals with high quality.
Analyze collected data to provide insight for management to make informed decisions.
Hire, mentor, train and develop team members.
Create tools to assist analyst team in identifying and managing ongoing and future threats.
Maintain and develop KPI’s on all efficacy & detection aspects that support the product performance objectives.
Collaborate with the product management by providing technical insight and judgment of feature/schedule/cost tradeoffs to help develop new products and enhance existing solutions
Oversee Analysis and identification of threats and attacks; develop and implement solutions to protect customers from subsequent attacks.
Provide timely and insightful responses to customers regarding email-based threats and resolve customer complaints
Oversee research on email-based threats and trends to develop and implement proactive detection tools and processes to provide preventative protection and detection for our customers.
Determine, justify and obtain approval for project resources, personnel, and budget necessary for projects that meet corporate needs.
Provide leadership and guidance to coach, motivate, and lead team members to their optimum performance levels and career development.
Requirements: 3-5 years of experience of managing teams within Security companies
Strong written and verbal communication skills (in English), including the ability to convey highly technical information in an accessible manner
Familiarity/experience with Elastic, Big Data and Data Science frameworks and tools (Tensorflow/ Pytorch/ Keras)
Experience in Python
Experience with could infrastructures (AWS Sage maker or equivalent)
Working knowledge/expertise in the phishing/malware domain
Working familiarity of web / email cyber-threats
Previous data mining experience is a plus
Demonstrated analytical and creative problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and provide support, mentoring and supervision to a globally distributed team Strong technical and programming background, software design and architecture expertise Advantage for a candidate with cyber knowledge and experience in the field of machine learning Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or other technical discipline Good interpersonal skills High problem-solving abilities
