Global Data Sciences (GDS) is the largest group in PayPal’s Strategy, Data and Growth organization. GDS is in charge of implementing unique, best-of-breed fraud-detection algorithms using cutting-edge technologies, and delivering systems which are highly available, scalable, distributed, and process data at web scale to aid in detecting and preventing all forms of fraud and risk affecting the PayPal $300B payments network.We are looking for Technical product managers to help innovate and execute product initiatives from an ideation to release.As a Product Manager you will work with teams of engineers, designers and Data scientists to define state-of-the-art, large scale Infrastructures and Tools. Job Requirements

  • At least 4 years experience in large scale, production, server side development on the JVM
  • A passion for architecture and for developing robust, scalable software systems
  • Technology geek – very significant advantage
  • Experience working with Big Data technologies such as
    Hadoop / Spark / Kafka / HBase / Cassandra/ Redis / Memcached - very significant advantage
  • Experience in web-scale cloud/SaaS environments and technologies –
    AWS, microservices, cloud deployments, Continusous delivery - very significant advantage
  • Linux configuration, administration, scripting etc. – significant advantage
  • Performance profiling and tuning of both application and storage laters – significant advantage
  • Hands on experience in DevOps practices – significant advantage .
  • Highly motivated, goal driven, Innovative, Curious and open minded.
  • Startup experience – advantage.
