A chronology of admiration.

A chronology of admiration.

Ea

One of the reasons it pays to stay active on social media, and in this case beBee, is the potential to discover and connect with exceptional people like Deb ๐Ÿ Helfrich. My admiration for Deb has grown exponentially. Her last buzz, Deja รฉcrit โ€“ How do you experience what you've already written?, has rocketed that growth into orbit. A must read, Deb has inspired me to start a hive called The how of writing.ย

The chronology:

When I first started on beBee, I wrote a buzz called So many posts, so little time, that led to the hive Why I write.

A few days ago I wrote a buzz on The Art of Cross-pollination. On this buzz Deb wrote the following comment:ย

"A bunch of bees buzzed around a topic and the flow of the words is very interesting indeed. The time and space definitely overlapped as many people approached these concepts with similar thoughts expressed in a completely different set of words.
In concert with these words on cross-pollination, we got to experience another sort of time-pollination as @๐Ÿ Fatima Williams has been rebuzzing old buzzes and it is fascinating to try to remember the Deb that I was when I made a comment in July. The words are mostly familiar and yet I rarely get deja vu. My sense of deja ecris is significantly less intense. Until, that is, I reread the entire post and then I seen to be better able to relocate my own words as a response to what the author has written.
I find this fascinating. Anyone else aware of cross-pollinating with a prior self via old comments and/or posts?"

As synchronicity would have it, on LinkedIn, someone posted on the why of writing and I included a link to a my post from "way back", September, 2015, I Try first to understand. Then to be understood, describing why I write. Deb commented on the post:ย

"When I chose to invest my time by reading and commenting, I work to value my own energy and the time/energy of the writer and those who participate in the post - even the unknown scrollers - by taking the same approach.
I start by highlighting the words that hit me viscerally, where I feel that frisson of comprehension in quotes, and then I amass my own cache of words in the hope I can spread along the millijoules that powered me to have something to say in this conversation.
Reading and writing are very powerful forms of human energy and I celebrate giving them the admiration they deserve!"

Her comment stayed with me and I felt I wanted to do something in response to the line, โ€œReading and writing are very powerful forms of human energy and I celebrate giving them the admiration they deserve!โ€ย  but got pulled away from my thoughts and when I had a chance to return, found her last buzz, Deja รฉcrit.

What a beautiful piece of work. This is piece is just one example of Debโ€™s ability to write. I couldnโ€™t find a way of commenting on her buzz; so I created The how of writing hive, as a result. I got so much out of her piece but I also realized it made an impression on me to not look at why we write but how we write.

"My writing style tends to overly complex sentences. Do allow for the amount of Philosophy I have read and enjoyed through the years. I don't value complexity for the sake of appearances. I utilize it because it is how I think. What happens in my brain doesn't necessarily happen in language the way I have come to understand that it does for others. My style makes me feel as though I am demonstrating some of the swirling thoughts in my brain where something can be โ€“ in quantum terms โ€“ both a wave and a particle at the same time."

Your response or "comment" dear Deb \ud83d\udc1d Helfrich continues to reflect you and your ability to communicate and express your thoughts and feelings in a truly unique way. I echo Wendy Weiner Runge's words: "narrow down what the world needs [you] to do, and focus on creating the business that will support [you] sharing [your] value with others." Thank you for your kind and generous words. I am grateful for our collaboration and engagement. Wishing you all the best!
