Dear Javier - an open letter.

Dear Javier - an open letter.

Dear Javier 🐝 beBee,

Ali Anani's  buzz has stirred the beBee hive over the last few days. What is interesting is that it is not a “how to” in business. It is the more philosophical question of, what is common sense? It is not isolated to personal philosophy as Dr. Ali always connects human nature to the nature of business. In other words, Dr. Ali is making sense of it all. The response has been tremendous; a dynamic exchange of opinions across the board and in and out of the comment box.

As far as I am concerned, it is not a coincidence that this has occurred on beBee. beBee is an organic environment, an integrated environment, that encourages us to engage in both the personal and professional. You can’t succeed as a business professional without the experience of being a successful human being.

I think Dr. Ali’s buzz has expanded the needs of publishing. I am encouraged to hear from you Javier that you are “launching a collaborative publishing platform soon”. Ali Anani added that beBee "will launch a new disruptive publishing platform where some bees will be able to write and build on the same buzz or post. This will be a great feature for all of you who usually are on the same (or similar) page.”

It is very exciting to be part of this development. I believe that beBee is doing what I commented to Dr. Ali about his work:

Your follow up buzz is continuing to expand the ideas presented in the buzzes and comments, both in and out of the comment box. You are putting back the human sense of it all into our new virtual community. You are strongly reminding us that the community may be virtual but the members are real.

Javier, I'm proud to be part of an organization which is producing pure gold.

"Everyone differs with their style of writing and I respect that." Agreed Lisa \ud83d\udc1d Gallagher. The beauty of this network is that there is a lot to choose from!

Simply getting to "human being" is a transformative step for our world as it is, and it is far from that state of evolution. A cousin of mine in California does not feel successful even though his business is profitable and his revenue has topped $5 million, but he resides in a neighbourhood in California where his neighbours have greater net worth. It is pointless for me to convince him what the baseline word "successful" means, this is how he has chosen to live his life. Boomers like him have a massive amount of disposable capital but we also have massive national debt being placed on the shoulders of successive generations. How did we get into this situation that to bankroll "successful" we sold out future generations? The change that will happen is simply in the passing of an old guard to a new era, and that old guard is whoever is set in their ways and their ways will go with them as they begin passing and the new generation evolve. This is how change actually happens without bloody revolutions. In the 20th Century the bloodless revolution was a marketed one and people like Edward Bernays were instrumental in knowing how to utilize the powers of marketing and that has informed HR practice also. This change once required manifesto or open letters or proclamations or revolution, today is conversation. This is a natural transformation at the end of a big hockey stick power law that effects population, climate, wealth and markets. It is a change one individual at a time, minus those who are set in their ways. As I have said before, we are either the last of the prior millennia or the first of a new millennia. It isn't something we decide, it is something we are and hopefully one day will be.

Case in point Ali Anani, I agree with disagreement as a positive factor in our collaboration, but I don't agree with the description of "going down to a trough". I see disagreement, as experienced in our exchanges, as an expansion of perspectives and ideas.
