It all depends.....

Perspective seems to be my word of the month but I suspect it’s been around much longer and is here to stay.
I love the fact that a visual description is attached to a point of view. Especially since perspective is a “technique or process of representing on a plane or curved surface the spatial relation of objects as they might appear to the eye”. I love to read “might” appear to the eye. It means that a perspective is a possibility. I also love the fact that perspective makes it possible for us to experience a third dimension of a two dimensional surface.
The following is taken from merriam-webster.com/dictionary. It offers a definition and an example. I left the last one open as an invitation to you to fill in the blanks. I hope you do and share your perspective.
Perspective; noun
1. a technique of depicting volumes and spatial relationships on a flat surface.
Compare aerial perspective, linear perspective.
2. a picture employing this technique, especially one in which it is prominent:
an architect's perspective of a house.
3. a visible scene, especially one extending to a distance; vista:
a perspective on the main axis of an estate.
4. the state of existing in space before the eye:
The elevations look all right, but the building's composition is a failure in perspective.
5. the state of one's ideas, the facts known to one, etc., in having a meaningful interrelationship:
You have to live here a few years to see local conditions in perspective.
6. the faculty of seeing all the relevant data in a meaningful relationship:
Your data is admirably detailed but it lacks perspective.
7. a mental view or prospect:
The (blank) perspective of (blank).
Two examples that can influence our perspectives:
1.

As always Ali Anani, great question! Off the top of my head, I would say that if we start off with acquiring a false perspective, that becomes the building block for the illusion. So in a way, by tracing the illusion to its root perspective, we can gain a better understanding of where it comes from.

I appreciate what you're saying Tony Rossi because of the visual aspect of perspective; how we see things. This naturally leads to how we experience things and so on. Thanks for your contribution to the discussion.
