1. What motivates you to get up in the morning?

The rich smell of Turkish coffee that my husband prepares every morning motivates me to get up. :-)

2. How do you spend the first hour of your day?

For me, early morning is the best time of the day. I get up at 6 am. We sip coffee, undisturbedly, talking about daily activities but also browsing the websites commenting the news. I always find some time to read or comment on several posts on beBee.
After that, I get ready to go to the office which is only 5 minutes walk from my home.

3. What are you passionate about?

It may sound odd, but I'm still in the process of discovering my passions. I really think we are never too old to make changes in our life both professional and personal, and to be passionate about new activities.
There are many little things in my life that I am passionate about and make me feel fulfilled. My recently discovered passion is blogging.
Many people say they are passionate about helping others. Helping others starts at our doorstep by taking care of elderly parents and other old or ill family members.
We can help others in many different ways.
I am involved in the construction of new faculty buildings and other student facilities that help improve the studying conditions and students' living standards at my university.
I love my job. Every successfully finished project gives me a sense of accomplishment because the team efforts have yielded results we can all be proud of. By doing our job with enthusiasm and responsibility we also indirectly help others.

4. What is the most practical advice you can offer someone in business?

Experience is the best teacher, and I always welcome a practical advice based on firsthand experience. My advice to young professionals who started working in the construction industry is; don't be afraid of asking questions. I learned that lesson the hard way. In my job, information is crucial and I always repeat this "mantra" to my young colleagues. No matter how a question seems trivial, if it is necessary to get information to perform your job, then you have to ask the question - even the highest ranking manager if needed.

5. If you had the opportunity to ask a great mind any question, what would it be?

Nikola Tesla is the scientist I admire the most. I would ask him so many questions regarding his less-known inventions but also how he merged spirituality with science. Because of his charisma, it would be impossible to ask only one question.

6. Name a book that changed your life.

I'm a book lover and have been reading my whole life, but I can't say for any book specifically that it changed my life. I'm hard to be influenced, but many people and books inspired me.

7. Share a quote that inspired you.

I'm not a fan of quotes. If I have to choose one quote, then it would be - "carpe diem". More accurate translation is; enjoy the day, trusting as little as possible in the future. As I'm getting older, I find more and more meaning in this phrase.
