Sensational Start to the Week at beBee: SSW@beBee
I have a hive called, “What words mean to me.”
I have now added the following feature to this hive; every Monday (or as often as I can), I am posting contributions related to the word “senses”. This week I offer a comment written by CityVP 🐝 Manjit. For me, his comment incorporates the most important aspect of our sensory system; the formation of meaning. I consider myself an integrator and someone who is process oriented. I am always in awe of witnessing/sensing the human process of creativity, an ability that expresses our sense and the meaning we give to our relationship with ourselves, others and the world we live in. The language of that creative expression is metaphor. In a dynamic and thought-provoking discussion about the interactions between the simple and complex inspired by Ali 🐝 Anani, Brand Ambassador @beBee over the course of days and buzzes, Manjit wrote the following sense-ational comment:
"Meaning as carbon is squeezed so much that what creates a simple structure like a diamond, is worn simply and well by us. What it is that moved carbon to becoming a rough diamond and rough diamond to a polished diamond, that is the challenge that was already built into the simple we see.
We can all therefore wear all manner of things that simple very well, but the process behind getting to a valuable diamond is the unpacking, because the world's most expensive diamonds are packed with meaning. We underestimate what went into making something simple and the consequent relationship within that is a measure of the received or personally held value." CityVP Manjit
