My contribution for this week is a discussion on the words,connect and engage.


CONNECT and ENGAGE, two words associated with social media. You can’t BE on social media without these two verbs.

I was thinking of this just now as I have not been engaged (or inconsistently engaged) in the last few weeks since I have had to focus on getting through some challenges in my life OFF LINE.

This being Wednesday, I thought it appropriate to return by producing a buzz on my, WWW.beBee, Wednesday Word(s) of the Week at beBee, related to my What Words Mean to Me, hive.

Well, as a processed oriented person, I couldn’t write about it till I actually REENGAGED by going through my notifications. It didn’t take long to see how CONNECTED I still was, in spite of the fact that my ENGAGEMENT had decreased over these past few weeks.

The first thing I saw was a buzz produced by Randall Burns, in which my name is mentioned.  Why I write was my first entry point on beBee and that led to creating the hive, Why I Write. 

Right after that, I read a response by Ali 🐝 Anani, Brand Ambassador @beBee ) in which both, my name was mentioned.

The discussion focuses on why we write and how we ENGAGE.

Dr. Ali and Manjit, just as Randall had done, cover the various styles and motivations of writers (all must reads). But the conclusion is the same: Our CONNECTION comes from the ENGAGEMENT.

No matter how many CONNECTIONS you have, unless you ENGAGE, they’re just a set of numbers.

Thank you Isabella M H Wesoly. Love your contribution to the discussion. I don't think there is a limit to the different types of engagement; there are as many types as there are people. Diversity makes things happen here on beBee.

Thanks for taking the time to read and respond Deborah Levine. You are an important connection that I wish to invest in. I am hoping to catch up with reading your book and respond soon. Sara, it is great that we are both returning at the same time ! Allow me to add a third piece to connecting and engaging, which is appreciating. In the last week I engaged with Randall Burns and aside to my engagement with their buzzes, what I in addition appreciate is both of their unique minds, which are a fabulous addition of writers that complement and add to the fabtastic writers on beBee. Appreciation comes with our own individual affinity.
