Here's Hoping

There is hope in the world, one individual at a time.
There have been ongoing discussions here on beBee over 2016 about questions in general and the question why in particular. When why is used to try to answer something which seems beyond any boundaries of sense, then we put ourselves at risk. The risk is loss of hope. Meaning and hope have a symbiotic relationship. In this way, if it’s getting harder to hang on to hope, stop and look for meaning. Don’t ask why, look for meaning. Viktor Frankl wrote a book titled, Man’s Search for Meaning. Among his many great thoughts and insights, he also quotes another insightful source, Nietzsche:
"He who has a why to live can bear almost any how."
The why in this case is not in an answer form but in the dynamic search for meaning. The search itself can bring about hope and then the hope can reflect some light on the dark side of not having an answer for why.
Another quote of Nietzsche that brings me hope and reflects the life-giving energy of the process of the search for meaning is:
"One must still have chaos in oneself to be able to give birth to a dancing star."
I have created the Hope Hive as a place that highlights our struggle to create and maintain hope. The first two posts represent the complexity of this course of action.
The first is Pascal Derrien; https://www.bebee.com/producer/@pascal-derrien-leinster/black-mirror-what-if-i-can-only-hear-you, and then a response by Aleta Curry; https://www.bebee.com/producer/@aleta-curry/do-justly-love-mercy-hope-still-springs-eternal.
One of the strongest messages I heard from my parents as I was growing up was, keep your eyes open but never allow the ugliness you see blind you to the beauty that exists.
I invite you to contribute to Here's Hoping.

As always, Mohammed Sultan, your contribution is most valuable. You also remind me that when individuals (of all ages) are confronted with a why question that they are struggling to answer, starting them off with "because" eases the formation of a response.
